Some Useless Inventions

By: J.Morgan

If you ever need a good chuckle research useless inventions. We hear about the good inventions that changed the world regularly, but what about the useless inventions? Unbelievably there are worthless inventions patented every day, you just do not hear about them. Many inventions are created before a thorough thought process takes place. The inventor is so wrapped up in can I make it; he never pauses to ask should I create it

Hundreds and thousands of ideas are sent to patent offices every year. The law of averages tells us that some of these are bound to be useless. Lets face it not every idea is brilliance and not every invention is practical. Some of them are not even good let alone marketable. Below are some samples of useless ideas turned into useless products.

Examples of Useless Inventions

You may be shocked at the sheer number of useless inventions that have been patented. Good ideas do not make it to patent many times because of the large amount of time, effort and money that goes into it. It is hard to fathom why anyone would waste valuable resources on a useless invention. However, it does happen and every year the list continues to grow.

Just a small sample of useless inventions:
•    Black highlighter
•    Inflatable anchor
•    Double-sided playing cards
•    Battery powered battery charger
•    Heated keyboard
•    Glow in the dark sun glasses
•    AC adapter for solar calculator
•    Silent alarm clock
•    Waterproof tea bags
•    Smooth sandpaper
•    Fireproof matches
•    Water proof sponge

This is merely a sample of the useless inventions someone wasted their time on; there are thousands more out there.

Who Patents Useless Inventions

The first question that comes to mind is why. Who would want to create something utterly useless? The answer is nobody really wants to, it just happens. The inventor may be caught up in the moment of creative activity and not stop long enough to ask pertinent questions. The image in their mind is perfect so they busily ready the idea for patent.

There are such a large number of patent applications every year that a few bad apples are bound to get through. Of course, it will not be long before they are caught and labeled useless but by then it is too late the patent has been issued. With a little research, you can easily find many examples of useless inventions that have been created throughout the years.
